LifeTrends is a program for planetary transits interpretation. The program calculates transiting aspects to any person's birthchart over a period from one week to twelve months. LifeTrends will output its calculations in one of two forms: in the form of a chronological hits list with one paragraph of interpretation per transiting aspect; or in the form of a calendar which graphically displays the aspects in effect over a time period, showing their duration and the date they become exact. The program is priced for hobbyists, but the output is suitable for commercial use. Users can obtain permission to sell the reports by agreeing to pay five percent (5%) royalties on reports sold, or by paying a flat fee of $150 for the program.
LifeTrends operates on IBM-compatible personal computers that have at least 384K RAM. If a color graphics card is present, LifeTrends will take advantage of it by displaying the planets moving around a graphic chartwheel as it calculates their transiting positions. The program does not require graphics to output its results. Two program versions come on the distribution diskette - TRENDS.EXE which runs fastest on computers without a math coprocessor and TRENDSCP.EXE which runs fastest on computers that do have a math coprocessor.
LifeTrends features
630 interpretations of aspect and house transits by Deanna Christensen,
San Antonio radio show astrologer. Customers say that they "like
the style of the interpretations" and find them "very
impressive".
A unique calendar
displays the transiting aspects in graphic form.
LifeTrends calculates
to the minute the time of day when transiting aspects become exact.
Tracks outer
planet aspects within an orb that can be set from 1 degree to
15 degrees in order to call such long-lasting aspects to the client's
attention when inner planet aspects 'trigger' their influence.
Prints outer
planet aspects at the start and end of the list that are within
the set orb but which become exact outside of the calculation
period.
If, for any planet,
a transiting aspect is within the set orb but fails to become
exact due to a change of direction by the planet, the interpretation
routine will print the aspect together with the orb at the time
of direction change.
LifeTrends provides
the ability to calculate, save, and maintain a file of natal charts.
LifeTrends can
be instructed to read saved charts from any of our calculation-only
programs' file of saved charts.
LifeTrends' own
file of saved charts can be located on any drive or directory.
Without leaving
LifeTrends, users may customize it permanently or for just the
current session. Options that may be customized include the house
system (5 systems), type of zodiac (tropical or sidereal), natal
'planets' (add Ascendant, Midheaven, or North Node), starting
planet, ending planet, duration of calculation period (from 1
week to 12 months), orb width (from 1 to 15 degrees), color of
text screens, and printer control options.
Includes a simple
text editor that allows you to revise or replace Deanna's interpretations
- to a maximum of 17 lines.
Can alternate
between using Deanna's interpretations for your printouts and
using your own edited interpretations.
LifeTrends comes
with a printed and bound 24-page 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" Help
Manual.

Writer and artist Deanna Christensen has maintained an astrological practice since 1977. Her columns include "Time Capsule" and "The Astral Forecast". She has worked on location on over 20 films including "Tender Mercies", "Urban Cowboy" and "Dallas". Deanna writes movie screenplays in addition to her astrological writings.
"The LifeTrends program was a real challenge. Reducing these abstracts to fit the technology was a wordsmith's touchstone, but John Halloran's addition of an editor was a brilliant stroke that allows the user to personalize the data and create an "astro-diary". He has also added the "trigger aspect" reference that makes this program an extremely effective forecasting tool. So many of my readers and clients have asked for something like the LifeTrends printout that I was able to recoup the sale price of $59.00 before I even finished writing it! I look forward to feedback from users."
